WCOOP 2026 Main Event: Boianovsky and Lococo Win High and Medium
By the Editorial Team
Felipe Boianovsky won the WCOOP 2026 Main Event High, while Alejandro Lococo won the Medium. The results crown the champions of two distinct tiers of the main event and put Brazilian poker in the spotlight: alongside Boianovsky’s title, Dante Goya and Pablo Brito reached the High final table. [1][2]
The High concluded on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Held online on PokerStars, WCOOP stands for World Championship of Online Poker. [1][3] Reports published on October 1, 2026, also already named Lococo as the Medium champion. [2]
WCOOP Main Event: High and Medium Champions and Payouts
Boianovsky, known at the tables as “lipe piv,” claimed the title in the higher buy-in version of the two. Lococo, who plays as “[Papo]AR,” took the Medium trophy. Both won No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournaments, listed on the schedule as WCOOP 108-H and WCOOP 108-M. [2]
| Edition | Buy-in | Entries | Champion | Champion’s Prize |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| High | US$ 10,300 | 289 | Felipe Boianovsky | US$ 551,632 |
| Medium | US$ 1,050 | 2,310 | Alejandro Lococo | US$ 343,242 |
The Medium exceeded its US$ 2 million guaranteed prize pool and paid out more than US$ 2.3 million. The High also surpassed its announced guarantee, generating a total prize pool of just under US$ 2.9 million. The Medium therefore drew more entries, while the High had the larger prize pool of these two tournaments. [2]
Boianovsky Climbed from Fifth Place to Take Control of the Final Table
Boianovsky began the High final table fifth in chips. Dante Goya held the lead, and Pablo Brito was also ahead of the eventual champion. That starting configuration helps put the shift during the final table into perspective: the title followed a climb through the chip standings, rather than a lead maintained from the start. [1][3]
With seven players still in contention, “lipe piv” took the lead. The elimination of Thomas Boivin in seventh consolidated his rise; from that point on, Boianovsky eliminated every remaining opponent. Pablo Brito finished sixth, Teun Mulder fifth and Dante Goya fourth, followed by Dan Wilson and Santiago Plante. Goya received US$ 231,355, while Brito won US$ 129,628. Both runs came at the same final table where Boianovsky claimed the title. [1]
In the final heads-up battle, Boianovsky faced Santiago Plante. MundoPoker’s coverage reports a pause to discuss a deal, which was not accepted. Play continued, and the Brazilian gradually whittled down his opponent’s stack before securing the title. Without a deal, the remaining payouts were determined by the outcome of play rather than an agreement between the two finalists. [3]
High Victory Completes a Historic Double
According to PokerNews, Boianovsky became the first player to win both the SCOOP and WCOOP Main Events in tournaments with buy-ins above US$ 10 thousand. His earlier victory came in June 2023, in the US$ 10,300 SCOOP Main Event, and earned him US$ 1,036,200. The WCOOP title completes this double at the highest tier of the two series; the prize of more than US$ 1 million belongs to the 2023 victory. [2]
Lococo Climbed in the Medium and Held His Heads-Up Lead
In the Medium, Alejandro Lococo began the final day third in chips. Jorge Abreu was the leader at that point. The Argentine gained ground during the final and stayed well above the average stack for most of the final day. By the time he reached heads-up against “Goodarla,” he had built a substantial advantage and held the lead until the match ended. His path differed from the one seen in the High, but it also featured a champion who began the day behind other contenders in the chip count. [2]
The Medium lasted four days. Lococo’s victory completed his run through a field of more than two thousand entries and added an online title to the career of a player also known for his work as a rapper. The report describes his celebration with his team and the audience following the final on his stream. [2]
